Managing Who Can Create Curriculum

Audience: Administrators only.

Overview

Administrators can decide, for each classroom, whether guides are allowed to create new areas and new works.

Note: This is an administrator setting.

Setting classroom permissions

  1. Go to Administration, then Classrooms, and open a classroom.
  2. In Settings, find Allow guides to create new areas and Allow guides to create new works.
  3. Turn the settings on or off as needed. When a setting is off, the matching Add button is hidden from guides in that classroom.

  • The two settings are linked: allowing guides to create new areas also allows them to create new works.
  • These settings only control creating brand-new areas and works.
  • Guides can still sort works, organize areas, and hide or unhide works.

Curriculum notifications

Administrators can choose which guides receive one email each day listing all areas and works added in that classroom. This makes it easier to keep track of curriculum changes.
