Curriculum Clean Up (Administrators)
Audience: Administrators only.
Overview
Clean Up helps you find curriculum areas and works that are old, unused, or duplicated. You can remove several at once and restore removed items for 30 days.
Note: Curriculum Clean Up is for administrators.
Opening Clean Up
Go to Administration, then Curriculum, and click the Clean Up button. There are two tabs: Review and Archive, and Recently Archived.
Finding items
Choose a filter on the left. Each filter shows how many items match.
For works:
- Never used
- Not used in over a year
- Used only a few times
- Not in any classroom
- Duplicate names
For areas:
- No works
- Only a few works
- Not in any classroom
- No activity in over a year
- The 'few times' and 'few works' filters let you choose what number counts as 'a few'.
- Search by name when you know what you are looking for.
- Click a column heading to sort, such as Last Used or Created.
- Click a number in Times Used to see recent usage, including the date, guide, classroom, and student.
Removing items
- Select the items you want to remove, or use the header checkbox to select everything shown. If more items match than are visible, a link lets you select all matching items.
- Click Delete in the top bar.
- Read the confirmation. Removing a work removes it from every area, classroom, and lesson plan. Removing an area also removes works that exist only in that area; works that are also used in another area remain.
- Confirm the removal.
You will see a message such as: 12 works moved to Recently Deleted. You can restore them within 30 days, after which they are permanently removed.
Restoring items
Items removed through Clean Up are not deleted immediately. They move to Recently Archived for 30 days.
- Open the Recently Archived tab. Each item shows when it was removed and how many days remain.
- Click Restore on one item, or select several and click Restore Selected.
- If an area was restored, its works that were removed with it are restored too.
If restoring an item would create two items with the same name in the same place, a Name conflict window explains what is affected and lets you restore the rest. Rename or remove the existing duplicate first, then restore.
Good to know: After 30 days, archived items and their usage history are permanently removed and cannot be restored.
